Man with Criminal Record Arrested for Homicide in Caracas
The director of the Cicpc, Douglas Rico, announced on Monday that the homicide of Henry José Macuare Díaz, 32 years old, has been clarified. The incident occurred in Pinto Salinas, El Recreo parish, Libertador municipality of Caracas on October 19, 2023. The victim, Henry José Macuare Díaz, also had a criminal record, having been responsible for an attempted fire at his mother’s house in the same town four months prior.
According to Commissioner Rico, an investigation led to the arrest of a 51-year-old man who had subdued the victim due to personal problems. The man claimed that Macuare Díaz was committing theft of batteries in the area, which led to a confrontation where he drew a knife and inflicted fatal wounds.
The perpetrator was apprehended in the Pedro Camejo urbanization where it was verified that he had outstanding warrants for qualified intentional homicide and vehicle theft. He has been placed under the orders of the 38th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry.
The arrest serves as a significant development in the case, bringing some closure to the tragic incident. The authorities are continuing to investigate the situation and gather more details.
