A total of 3,055 joint personnel were deployed to provide security rally which will be held in the future KPU Office until DPR BuildingWednesday (20/3) today.

“In order to secure today’s action at the Indonesian KPU and Indonesian DPR, we involved 1,910 personnel at the Indonesian KPU and 1,145 personnel at the DPR/MPR,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro in his statement.

Meanwhile, traffic engineering around the KPU Office and the DPR Building is still situational. This means that traffic engineering will only be carried out if there is congestion around the demonstration location.

However, Susatyo appealed to the public to look for alternative routes and avoid these two locations to anticipate traffic jams.

Furthermore, Susatyo appealed to the demonstrators to carry out demonstrations in an orderly manner and in accordance with applicable regulations.

“Of course we must pay attention to the rights of other people, so that the rules in the law on expressing opinions in public must be obeyed,” he said.

Today the KPU will announce the results of the 2024 presidential election. This is related to the recapitulation deadline at the national level which expires today based on Article 413 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (Election Law).

As of Wednesday (20/3) early morning, the Indonesian KPU had just completed the national level recapitulation for 36 provinces. The remaining provinces of Papua and Papua Mountains are scheduled for Wednesday (20/3) at 10.00 WIB.

Chairman of the Indonesian KPU, Hasyim Asy’ari, hopes that the recapitulation process for the two provinces can run smoothly so that the national results can be announced according to the deadline.

“Hopefully it will run smoothly and on time, so that we can still determine the election results nationally or at the national level in accordance with the time frame determined by law, namely within a maximum duration of 35 days after voting day and that coincides with March 20 2024 ,” said Hasyim at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (19/3) evening.
