There is a terrorist threat against the Donauzentrum in Vienna-Donaustadt.
A wall graffiti written in bad German announced an attack on Tuesday evening; the wording of the graffiti, which was interspersed with numerous insults, points to one Islamist background as was also shown in a report in the “Kleine Zeitung” online.
“We are taking the threat seriously, the State Office for State Security and Combating Extremism (LSE) is investigating,” said a police spokesman Matthias Schuster upon request.
Employees informed on Monday
The operating company of the “Westfield Donauzentrums” informed the employees on Monday about the threat situation in two letters that were available to the APA.
On the one hand, it was emphasized that the shopping center would remain open on Tuesday and, on the other hand, that there was initially no reason to worry for the employees because they were strictly adhering to the police’s instructions. Schuster told the APA that it was of course possible that further measures would be taken later in the day.
