A dog also died in the accident, the East police report.

Next of kin have been notified, they say.

The accident happened in Tveterveien, and county road 115 is still closed on Saturday evening. The police received a report about the accident at 2.47pm.

Two cars collided head-on, and there were two people in one car, and a person and a dog in the other.

The police were quick to describe the accident as serious. One of the cars caught fire after the accident.

The two cars came from different directions when they collided head-on, says operations manager Joakim Ormaasen in the East police district to Smaalenenes Avis.
