Today TIM and the Cyber Security Italy Foundation announced a strategic partnership aimed at promoting responsible behavior in the use of new technologies and educating students in the management of cyber crises.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between TIM and the Cyber Security Italy Foundation aims to spread a culture of cybersecurity in schools, promoting collaboration to study cyber threats through Cyber Threat Intelligence.

The main objectives of the initiative are to raise awareness among students, teachers and families on the conscious use of technologies and on the security measures to be adopted on the web and social networks.

Eugenio Santagata, Chief Public Affairs & Security Officer of TIM and CEO of Telsy, underlined the importance of cultivating a digital culture through public-private collaborations, starting from schools. He stated: “Training in this field is fundamental and constitutes an enabling factor to promote conscious digitalisation. Furthermore, providing a constantly updated picture of potential threats and their evolution allows us to raise the level of defense, acting on the most exposed subjects, i.e. young people, and in general anyone who accesses digital resources.”

Marco Gabriele Proietti, Founder and President of the Cyber Security Italy Foundation, he expressed gratitude to TIM for choosing them as partners in this ambitious project. He underlined the continuous commitment to raising awareness among young generations of the risks of the Internet, with the aim of training citizens who are informed, responsible and capable of navigating the online world safely.

“Teaching cybersecurity at school not only contributes to the training of future professionals in the sector, but also promotes a widespread digital culture”, Proietti said. He highlighted that such a culture is essential to effectively address future challenges.

As part of the collaboration, TIM and the Foundation will leverage their expertise to guide young people through a program covering information technologies, basic knowledge and practical experiences in cybersecurity, including the adoption of cyber defense tools.

A further objective is to direct young people’s interest towards second level and university specialist training for a professional career in these sectors. TIM, through this Memorandum of Understanding, confirms the potential of collaboration between non-profit organizations and technological players in the development of projects that encourage the use of digital technologies and skills for conscious, intelligent, sustainable and inclusive social growth.
