A couple of months after the previous ones, TIM announced changes to the contractual conditions of some rechargeable mobile offers changes in economic conditions for some landline offers. In the first case, the changes will be implemented from June 6th, in the second from next June 1st.
In both cases, the operator states, the changes were necessary “due to economic needs of sustainability of investments in new generation networks, also due to the changes in the market context that occurred during 2023”.
From first charge after June 5, 2024, TIM will increase the monthly price of some mobile offers for rechargeable customers. In particular, to the offers concerned, an increase in the monthly cost will be applied – varying from €1.99 up to €2.49 (VAT included) – depending on the specific active offer. Each customer affected by this contractual change will be informed with a personalized message, which will specify the actual increase applied.
Furthermore, TIM still offers some customers affected by this change the possibility of activating, immediately and free of charge, one of the following initiatives:
50 free GB of additional data traffic every month: can be activated by sending a free SMS message to 40916 with the text 50GIGA ON. The additional 50 free GB can be used every month, keeping the data offer active on the line.
Free activation of the active data offer at TIM’s 5G speed: can be activated by sending a free SMS message to 40916 with the text 5G ON. TIM’s 5G enablement will be maintained as long as the customer keeps the data offer active on the line. TIM’s 5G service is available on enabled devices and in the areas covered by TIM’s 5G network.
Each interested customer, underlines the operator, will only be able to activate the initiative, among the two illustrated above, which will be indicated in the information message received from TIM. To join the initiative, however, you must type a new SMS message to be sent to the number 40916, as it is not possible to respond directly to the informative SMS message received.
Without prejudice to the right to withdraw from the contract without costs or penaltiesalternatively, interested customers will be able to join the reserved offer with same costs and 2 GB more than their current offerby sending a free SMS to 40916 with the text CONFIRM ON, by May 31, 2024. Also in this case, it will be necessary to write a new SMS message as it is not possible to reply directly to the one received.
If the interested customers do not intend to accept the modification of the contractual conditions they can withdraw from the contract (procedure in the first VIA link below), terminating the line or switching to another operator, without penalties or deactivation costscommunicating it by 6 July 2024. The increase in the monthly cost will be applied from the first charge after 5 June 2024, without prejudice to the customer’s right to exercise withdrawal, without costs or penalties, by the deadline of 6 July 2024.
Alternatively, it is also possible deactivate the offer subject to the contractual change, maintaining the mobile line with TIM. In this case, the rate foreseen by the basic profile active on the mobile line or that foreseen by any other offers already active on the same will be applied.
From 1 June 2024, the monthly cost of some TIM landline offers will increase by 2 euros per month (22% VAT included). Any existing promotions will not undergo any change. Affected customers have been notified with a dedicated message in the TIM landline invoice delivered in April 2024where all the details on the proposed contractual modification are illustrated.
