Timon Haugan (27) defended the lead from the first half and won the World Cup final in slalom.
It was the updalen’s first individual victory in the World Cup. He beat home favorite Manuel Feller by 40 hundredths.
The Norwegian team ran into the goal area to congratulate Haugan. The winner and several of the Norwegians burst into tears in joy at the triumph, and they lifted Haugan onto a golden chair.

– It feels completely insane. I do not have words. That is our success. We push each other and pull each other up. Every training session is like a race. Having such teammates is so valuable, he says to NRK.

Haugan had three second places as individual top results in the World Cup. All in slalom.

The feat saved Norwegian men’s alpine skiing at the last minute. It meant that Norway avoided going an entire World Cup season without a win. Such an unwanted streak has not been seen since 1987/88.
Henrik Kristoffersen finished seventh after being beaten by 1.07 seconds, while Alexander Steen Olsen climbed from 21st to 11th place.
A hook sent Atle Lie McGrath out of the final race early. He was in 11th place after the first round.
