1949 – Death of Tan Malaka

Tan Malaka or Ibrahim title Datuk Sutan Malaka died in Selopanggung Village, Kediri, East Java, on February 21 1949 at the age of 51 years. He was an Indonesian independence fighter and figure of the Indonesian Communist Party.

Tan Malaka is also the founder of the Murba Party and is one of Indonesia’s National Heroes.

1958 – Egyptian and Syrian referendum
