Torino and Bologna drew 0-0 in the opening of the 35th round of the Italian Championship this Friday (3).
The match at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin was balanced and with few real chances to score. Each team only made one shot towards the opponent’s goal.
In addition to demanding a save from goalkeeper Milinkovic-Savic on Aebischer’s shot in the 15th minute of the second half, Bologna had another opportunity in the fourth minute of the final stage, when Zirkzee wasted a shot in front of the goal.
The home team’s best chance came in the 22nd minute of the second half with a shot from Ilic that was saved by Skorupski.
With the result, Bologna lost the chance to take, even provisionally, 3rd place in the table.
The Emilia-Romagna team remains in 4th place with 64 points, in good condition in the fight for a place in the next edition of the European Champions League.
Coach Thiago Motta’s team still has three more games to play: on Saturday of next week (11) at 1 pm Brasília time against Napoli away from home; on the 18th against Juventus at home; and on the 25th against Genoa away from home.
To qualify for the Champions League, you need to be in the top five. Roma, with 59 points (and four more games to play), and Atalanta, with 57 games (and five more games to play), are the biggest threats.
Torino occupies 10th place with 47 points and now has virtually no chance of qualifying for a European competition next season.
The last three games in the Italian Championship will be against Verona away from home, Sunday next week (12) at 10 am Brasília time; against Milan on the 18th in Turin; and the 25th against Atalanta in Bergamo. .
