The wounds have been licked and the painful defeat against Chemnitz when they were outnumbered has been put aside. Now our boys are heading into the 31st matchday of the Northeast Regional League with new ambitions. Next Sunday (04/28/24, 1:00 p.m.) our blue and whites will be playing in the city duel against FC Viktoria 1889 in Lichterfelde. With four wins and one draw from the last five matches, the Sky Blues are something of the team of the moment. “Our opponent is on an impressive run and will invest everything to continue it against us,” says coach Stephan Schmidt, who still doesn’t see his boys without a chance. “We had a bitter day against Chemnitz, Viktoria is going from win to win and recently clearly defeated BFC Dynamo at home – so the signs are not optimal, but that is exactly our chance.”

The coach expects a combative and courageous performance from his team. “We have to accept every duel from the first second and win second balls. So we can take away the fun from Viktoria. It will be important that we find our way to the top ourselves,” said the 47-year-old before the showdown with the fourth-placed team. Our U23 ranks in 15th place with 32 points at the start of the final phase of the season.
