On the 13th local time, UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan passed away.

The UAE Ministry of Presidential Affairs has announced a 40-day national mourning for President Khalifa, with flags flying at half-staff across the country in mourning.

UAE government agencies, federal and local agencies, and the private sector will suspend work for 3 days.

Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was born in 1948 and was established as the crown prince of Abu Dhabi in 1969; after the death of Zayed, the founding president of the UAE, in 2004, he was elected as the new president.
