General Director Franco Collavino thus commented on the green renovation project of the stadium to the club’s official channels
Udinese presented the “Solar park” project for the stadium created with Energy&strategy at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Inside the structure there are approximately 20 thousand square meters which should be reinvented to offer fans commercial spaces and recreational activities. In fact, the Bluenergy Stadium will soon be equipped with a photovoltaic system which will be housed on the roof of the stadium owned by the Friulian club.
The works should be completed in October this year. Thus the system will officially come into action as early as the 2024/2025 sports season. General Director Franco Collavino commented on this project on the club’s official channels. “Innovation and environmental sensitivity are continuously present in Udinese Calcio’s choices. This is also why we are extremely happy to make, with the fundamental contribution of Bluenergy, our even greener stadium. We are recognized as the most sustainable club in Italy and the fourth in the world and this motivates us to promote, together with a protagonist of the energy transition in our country like Bluenergy, projects that give further impetus to this commitment. Football uses unparalleled media levers and we have, in addition to the duty to act virtuously ourselves, the duty to convey messages that involve fans in common action against climate change.â€
