Four teams took to the field this Monday, for the Italian Championship. Udinese visited Lecce and won 2-0. Fiorentina, Conference League finalists, beat Monza 2-1 at home.

Lecce came to the field trying to avoid the risk of relegation, but they didn’t count on Udinese’s good form. Since the arrival of former defender Fabio Cannavaro, the team has been evolving and gaining strength in the fight against relegation.

The goals of the match were scored by Lorenzo Lucca, in the 36th minute of the first half, and by Serbian Lazar Samardzic, in the 40th minute of the second half.

Monza took the lead in the 9th minute of the first half, with a goal from Bosnian Milan Duric.

Fiorentina’s equalizer came with 32 minutes on the clock, through a header from Argentine Nicolás González. The team would dominate the actions for the rest of the game.

The turning point came in the 33rd minute of the second half, with Brazilian Arthur Melo, ex-Grêmio, hitting a beautiful shot from outside the area. The goal scored by the midfielder gave final results to the match.

UPCOMING MATCHES
Lecce hosts Atalanta this Saturday, in the 37th round of the Italian Championship. Udinese will try to build against Empoli, at home, on Sunday.
