  • Kiev: “Prisoners of war forced to fight for Moscow”

    Ukraine’s defense ministry says it has news that the Russians are forcing some Ukrainian prisoners of war to fight for them in the Russian border region in Rostov, where Moscow would have a shortage of forces. The BBC writes it, adding that it has no way of verifying the claim. The ministry itself says there are reports of Ukrainian civilians being robbed and even murdered by the Russian military, in violation of any international law. It is also said that in the Ukrainian territories militarily occupied by the Russians the population is asked to cooperate and that in some of these areas, in particular in Kherson, the Russians are trying to install some sort of police system to maintain order. All information, reiterates the BBC, not verifiable.

  • Georgieva, IMF will cut world growth estimates for the war

    Russia’s default is no longer an unlikely event. This was stated by the director general of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, stressing that the Fund will revise its global growth estimates downwards due to the war.

  • UK Intelligence: “Unlikely Russia has achieved its intended targets”

    It is “very unlikely” that Russia has to date achieved the military objectives that were indicated prior to the invasion. British intelligence claims this in a new update published by the Ministry of Defense’s Twitter account. According to the 007, the Russian forces on the ground continue to make “limited progress” and this is due to both “logistical problems” and the “strong resistance of the Ukrainians”.
