Unikaha basketball players won FIBA Champions League in the Belgrade Arena, with a victory against Tenerife 80:75 (16:10, 22:17, 24:29, 18:19).

“There were moments when I wanted to leave basketball, I thought I wasn’t good enough, and now when I look at being a champion at this level, it’s something serious. Many don’t get this opportunity and I’m grateful for every second, every achievement, every obstacle … My teammates, family, wife, give me so much support and I’m grateful that I can be in this situation like tonight,” Peri said through tears before the awarding of the cup.
The basketball player from Ocoee, Florida studied at Youngstone State College from 2010 to 2014 and exactly ten years after leaving his native country, he wrote his name in the history of the FIBA Champions League.

Unikaha won this competition for the first time in its history and added it to its series of European trophies, in addition to the Eurocup cup, won in 2017 and the Radivoje Korać Cup, won in 2001. In the eighth season of the FIBA Champions League, the Spanish team triumphed for the fifth time, because so far trophies have been brought to that country by Tenerife, who were defeated tonight in the final by Burgos – both with two titles each. In the third place match earlier on Sunday, Murcia beat Peristeri 87:84.
