United States, 11 hours of interrogation for Cuomo, accused of harassment

by admin

The Governor of the State of New York, Andrew Cuomo, was interrogated for eleven hours by the Attorney General’s team to answer allegations of sexual harassment of a number of women, including some of his former collaborators. The interrogation, which took place on July 17 on the thirty-ninth floor of the conference room of a skyscraper in the heart of Manhattan, was videotaped. The New York Times reveals it.

Leading the questions were two outside professionals hired by the Attorney General’s office to conduct an “independent investigation”, former prosecutor Joon Kim and attorney Anne Clark. According to the New York newspaper, there were moments of tension, especially when Cuomo criticized Kim for his “lack of independence” for some inquiries conducted by the prosecutor against the governor and his allies.

In recent months, Kim and Clark have collected the testimony of women who accused Cuomo of “inappropriate behavior”, including unsolicited hugs, kisses, caresses and pushed jokes. Members of the governor’s staff were also heard during the investigation.

With the interrogation, the investigation comes to an end. The two professionals will send their findings to the Attorney General, Letitia James. A public report is expected by the end of the summer.
