Universitario vs Sport Huancayo: the ‘cream’ team beat the ‘rojo matador’ 2-0 on Friday, March 1, on date 6 of the 2024 Liga 1 Apertura Tournament. The duel was played at the Monumental de Ate stadium.
With goals from Edison Flores and Diego Dorregaray, the ‘merengues’ achieved their fifth victory in the Apertura, remain undefeated and are leaders of the standings with 16 points. Those led by coach Wilmar Valencia suffered their first defeat and were left with 13 points.
Universitario will face Deportivo Garcilaso next Friday, March 8 for date 7 of the Apertura. Sport Huancayo will face César Vallejo for phase 1 of the Copa Sudamericana next Thursday the 7th.
