Usa, a man opens fire from the car: one dead and 12 injured in Phoenix

by admin

One person was killed and twelve others were injured in a series of shootings. A man was stopped an hour and a half after the raid: he had opened fire, apparently at random, in at least eight places on the outskirts of Phoenix. Four people were hit and injured, one of whom was fatal, while the other nine victims sustained minor injuries, some of which were due to glass splinters.

“We don’t know what the reasons were, we have no idea what this person was thinking when he shot,” Peoria police spokesman Brandon Sheffert said. “Obviously we want to clarify this, because many people are afraid, many people have been affected,” he added during a press conference.

Firefighters identified a vehicle that matched the description given by several witnesses to the shooting. The man behind the wheel offered no resistance when he was arrested and the police discovered a weapon in his vehicle. The event follows other recent shootings in the western United States, such as California, where a disgruntled employee executed nine of his colleagues last month, or Colorado, where ten people were killed in a supermarket in March.

A total of 279 people have been killed since the beginning of the year in mass shootings in the United States (in which at least four people were killed or injured) according to statistics from the Gun Violence Archive organization. At the same time, gun deaths have increased across the country: more than 20,200 people, including suicides.
