WAC missed out on making it to the top of the qualifying group

WAC and SCR Altach drew 0-0 in the qualifying group in the 24th round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.

The first incident occurred before the game even started: the Altach team broke down in their team bus – engine failure. The starting eleven will be brought to the stadium in the coaches’ private cars, and the kick-off will be postponed a quarter of an hour later.

The Rheindörflers were unimpressed by the adventurous journey and were clearly the stronger team in the first half. Gustavo Santos fails twice against WAC goalkeeper Gütlbauer (5th, 14th), Gebauer narrowly misses the goal with two shots (20th, 45th).

Altach struggles with the referee’s decision

It was only after 76 minutes that the equipment landed in the net after a header from Reiner, but Altach’s supposed opening goal was not given due to a harsh foul decision immediately beforehand.

At the end of the 90 minutes, despite the WAC’s great chance from Boakye shortly before the end (90th + 1), there was still no goal scored, the WAC and Altach shared the points for the fourth duel in a row.

In the qualifying group, the WAC remains in second place with 17 points, missing the jump past Wiener Austria (18 points). Altach is third with eleven points.
