The alarm in the Sicilian base of Sigonella went off when the first news of the fire on board the cruiser Moskva was intercepted. Two large GlobalHawk remote-controlled reconnaissance aircraft took off in minutes, heading full speed towards the black sea: an extraordinary procedure, because normally only one aircraft of this type alternates in the surveillance missions of the conflict.
