After the international break, it’s back to the Bundesliga: On the 27th matchday of the current season, SV Werder Bremen met VfL Wolfsburg at home. Due to yellow suspensions (Senne Lynen, Mitchell Weiser, Jens Stage) and injuries (Justin Njinmah, Niklas Stark, Dawid Kownacki), half a dozen professionals were unavailable, which forced head coach Ole Werner to make changes in several positions.
Both teams had recently suffered three defeats in a row. In Wolfsburg this meant that coach Niko Kovac had to resign and was replaced by ex-Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhüttl, who celebrated his comeback in the Bundesliga.
Ole Werner starts the game with this eleven: Zetterer – Veljkovic, Friedl, Jung – Agu, Alvero, Deman – Bittencourt, Schmid – Ducksch, Woltemade. Malatini, Weiser, Lynen, Stage and Njinmah are not there from the start compared to the 1-2 defeat at Union last matchday, but Veljkovic, Alvero, Bittencourt, Schmid and Agu are playing.
