On February 2, 2024, an announcement will be made to the press, OpNet has signed an agreement with Wind Tre for the latter’s acquisition of the assets and activities, including commercial development ones, directly held by OpNet.

An important choice given that OpNet is the first operator in Europe to have developed a national 5G Stand Alone network and to have launched services on this technology in Italy for the Wholesale market.

The acquisition is part of OpNet’s strategy to enhance its assets and the dynamic business model that distinguish it“, explains the company in the same communication.

The operation, subject to government and regulatory approvals, will see the implementation of all preparatory actions for finalizing the closing in the coming months.

During this period the two companies will continue to develop their respective businesses by operating in full and absolute autonomy, in full compliance with competition rules.

The operation will be carried out through the purchase by Wind Tre of 100% of a company to which OpNet will transfer the relevant business unit, with the exclusion of Tessellis SpA and the other companies controlled or owned by OpNet.
