Our test for Helldivers 2 cannot appear directly at launch.
The shooter Helldivers 2 will be released for the PlayStation 5 and PC on February 8, 2024. Normally we would have liked to present you with a finished test at the launch at the latest to make a possible purchase decision easier for you.
But this test comes later than originally planned. And the reason for this is simple: Unfortunately, we won’t receive the test codes for the game until very late – namely when the servers start, i.e. the release – and so we can only jump into the battles when everyone else can too.
Helldivers 2 focuses primarily on co-op. Trying out this aspect in detail takes some time, which is why a test shortly after the release or before the weekend on GamePro.de is unfortunately not possible due to time constraints alone.
When you can expect our Helldivers 2 test
We can’t make any concrete predictions yet, but we expect the Helldivers 2 review to be published over the next week (February 12th-16th).

Helldivers 2 is the sequel to Helldivers from 2015. Unlike the first part, the sequel no longer uses a top-down perspective, but rather a shoulder perspective.
In terms of story, you’ll be in the battle suit of one of the eponymous super soldiers who has to protect the over-earth from attacks by nasty aliens. There are a whole range of powerful weapons available, which must be used skillfully in the missions in order to be victorious.
Always-On and no campaign: As mentioned, Helldivers 2 relies almost exclusively on co-op battles with up to four people, which also works crossplay between the PC and PS5 versions. In return, this also means that there is no dedicated story campaign for solo players. You also need a constant internet connection when playing and cannot play offline.
