Clubs face each other this Tuesday in the fourth round of group G of the tournament; check more details
Caracas and Peñarol take to the field this Tuesday (7), at 7pm (Brasília time), in a match valid for the fourth round of group G of the Copa Libertadores 2024. The game will take place at the Olympic Stadium of the Central University and will be broadcast live from the ESPN 4on closed TV, and on Star+on streaming (see the full schedule here).
Bottom of the group with just one point, Caracas tries to make the home advantage count to achieve its first victory in the competition. But the phase is not good at all. Without winning in 14 games (adding up all competitions), the team finished in a modest 11th place in the Venezuelan Apertura and ended up outside the final quadrangular (the top eight qualify).
Just one point behind second-placed Rosario Central, Peñarol is looking for its second victory in the Libertadores to continue dreaming of qualifying. Leader of the Uruguayan Apertura, the Montevideo team arrives well for the duel, with five wins in the last seven games, across all competitions.
The last meeting between the teams took place on April 10, in the second round of the group. On that occasion, Peñarol won in style, beating Caracas 5-0. Maxi Silvera (hat-trick), Méndez and Darias scored the goals.
