In a game that became electrifying in the final stretch, Brentford and Manchester United were tied for the 30th round of the Premier League, at the Community Stadium. The home team hit the post on four occasions over the 90 minutes. Mount opened the scoring for the Red Devils, at 50 in the second half, while Ajer left everything the same at 53. In the next round, Brentford will play at home again, this time against Brighton, on the 3rd, at 3:30 pm (Brasília time). Manchester, in turn, visits Chelsea, on the 4th, at 4:15 pm, at Stamford Bridge.
Home owners pressure
From the first minute, Brentford gave Manchester United no space and simply had 14 shots in the first forty-five minutes. Toney even hit the post at 23, and narrowly missed out on Onana’s net. Minutes later it was Zanka’s turn to also hit the post and bring a lot of danger to the Red Devils’ goal. The visitors, in turn, had more possession of the ball, however they needed to be more vertical and have more depth.
Lock again
United came back and almost opened the scoring with Bruno Fernandes. Furthermore, Höjlund also finished on target, but Flekken shone with a great save. Then, it was Brentford’s turn to scare Onana’s goal, who made two great saves. Lewis-Potter caught the rebound of Yarmolyuk’s shot and shot at goal, but stopped at the archer. Wissa and Mbeumo also hit the target, but stopped at the post.
Electrifying final stretch
When everything seemed to be heading towards 0-0, Mount opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 50th minute. However, three minutes later, Ajer appeared in the middle of the opponent’s defense to equalize the game for Brentford.
