Paris Saint-Germain continued in the French Cup, this Wednesday (7), by defeating Brest 3-1, at the Parc des Princes, in the round of 16 of the competition. This way, the Parisian team is guaranteed to be among the top eight and awaits, through draw, its opponent in the next phase. The highlight of the game was, once again, striker Mbappé, who is already experiencing a certain farewell feeling, due to his likely departure to Real Madrid.
In fact, PSG were superior to Brest, but only managed to open the scoring in the 33rd minute. After a pass from Zaire-Emery, Mbappé crossed the ball and made it 1-0 for the home team. Shortly afterwards, it was Dembélé’s turn to take a corner and Danilo Pereira, with a header, increased the advantage of the Parisians, who had Brazilians Marquinhos and Lucas Beraldo (left-back) among the starters.
In the second stage, Brest even scared PSG and reduced the score with a header from Mounié. But the expulsion of defender Brassier, due to a second yellow card, complicated the visitors’ mission. Thus, Gonçalo Ramos, in stoppage time, declared the home team’s 3-1 victory and qualification for the quarter-finals.
