A woman, identified as Érika de Souza Vieira, was arrested this Tuesday afternoon (16) by the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro after taking a relative who was dead to withdraw R$17,000 related to a bank loan.
The videos went viral on social media and show the woman carrying her supposed uncle in a wheelchair, trying to get him to sign a document to complete the looting.
In the images, it is possible to notice that bank branch employees, suspicious of the man’s health, began filming the scene.
In the video, the woman simulates a conversation with her uncle and tries, unsuccessfully, to make her relative hold the pen. “If you don’t sign, there’s no way, I can’t sign for you.”
Then she says: “You hold the chair very strong there. Didn’t he hold the door there just now?” The woman questions the employees, who say they did not see the situation.
The attendants rebut the woman about the man’s health status, “he’s not well, no. The color isn’t staying.”
The woman says to the man: “He doesn’t say anything, he’s just like that (…) Uncle, do you want to go to the UPA again?”
According to the delegate responsible for the case, Fábio Luiz da Silva Souza, it was found that when he arrived at the bank branch to make the loan, the man had been dead for some time.

“There she tried to simulate him taking out a loan that had already been made. However, people at the bank thought he was sick and feeling unwell. The SAMU doctor, upon arriving at the scene, found that he had died, apparently a few hours ago. In other words, he already entered the bank dead.”
According to the delegate, the woman is being interviewed at the Bangu police station, in the region of the bank branch, and should be arrested in the act as soon as the statement is completed..
The elderly man’s body will be examined at the Legal Medical Institute (IML), in order to determine the circumstances of his death.
