Swiss goalkeepers Yann Sommer (Inter Milan) and Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund) hope to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday evening. Both can play a decisive role.
If Sommer manages to sign a 22nd shutout this season, Inter will continue their European journey. The Nerazzurri travel to Madrid to face Atlético with a short advantage (1-0) acquired in the first leg at San Siro thanks to Arnautovic.
Even if there is only a goal difference, the trajectory of the two clubs is very distinct. Inter remains on 13 victories in all competitions, including 9 without conceding a goal. The Colchoneros, for their part, are going through a small crisis: they have lost 5 of their last 8 meetings.
Bosz’s revenge?
For Borussia Dortmund, everything remains to be done after the 1-1 draw from Eindhoven in the first leg. Absent in the first leg due to injury, Kobel should however be on the pitch on Wednesday. If he keeps a clean sheet, his team will play at least penalties.
Peter Bosz, who manages the Dutch club, is hungry for revenge: in 2017, Borussia poached him from Ajax Amsterdam… before sacking him after just five months!
