It was an entertaining and intense top fight. Antunes scored the decisive goal in the 42nd minute after a well-executed counterattack and became Geneva’s match winner. The Bernese team, for their part, struggled, especially in the final third, and didn’t create enough of a compelling chance. All in all, it was a rather disappointing performance from the leader.
Servette moves within four points of the leader and ends a long series: YB’s last home defeat in the Super League was in March 2022 – back then they lost 1-2 to FCZ.
For the detailed match report.
And then this game is over: YB loses against Servette 0-1! The leader’s lead shrinks from seven to just four points.
The last minute is running.
Servette now also defends this strongly. YB is currently not in the dangerous zone.
Now the Young Boys are throwing a lot more forward. Will the final offensive come too late? We’ll know more in a few moments.
Kutesa makes room for Bronn.
90 minutes are over. Five minutes are replayed. YB gets another corner.
Now a good action! After a cross, Ganvoula gets a header – but Mall prevents it from making it 1-1.
The Young Boys are not sufficiently compelling in their actions. So it will be difficult to score an equalizer.
Finally a sign from the Young Boys again. Mall reacts well and is there against Monteiro.
Will it actually be YB’s first home defeat since March 2022? Raphael Wicky’s team probably still has around ten minutes to keep the series alive.
The omnipresent goalscorer Antunes is replaced by Guillemenot.
Magnin tries his luck with a long-range shot. Von Ballmoos can parry in the follow-up.
In the last minute, Servette is closer to scoring the second goal than YB is to equalizing. The changes don’t seem to have had any effect so far. Would the YB quarter hour help?
Wicky changes one last time: Hadjam goes out, Persson comes in.
Niasse is new on the pitch for the home team. He comes into play for Lauper.
René Weiler is now changing for the first time. Nishimura is replaced by Magnin.
Servette again! Kutesa finishes unchallenged in the penalty area and opts for a shot. Von Ballmoos comes to the rescue with a flying parade that is worth seeing. The Young Boys seem a bit perplexed and unsettled at the moment.
After a pass from Kutesa, Antunes gets the ball in the middle. But Von Ballmoos is there.
