DoNews reported on June 6 that the Kanagawa Prefecture Government in Japan took the lead in using ChatGPT in administrative work, becoming the first government department in Japan to use ChatGPT.

According to NHK, the Yokosuka City Government in Kanagawa Prefecture has been using ChatGPT to assist with official affairs since May 20 for a one-month test.

During the test, about 4,000 civil servants of the municipal government will use ChatGPT to conduct official duties such as “meeting minutes” and “policy formulation” to verify ChatGPT’s ability in administrative work.

The Yokosuka City Government issued a press release on May 18, announcing that “ChatGPT will be fully used”, and at the same time stated that this “ChatGPT will be fully used” press release was written using ChatGPT, and the staff Proofread and polish only part of the text.
