On March 8th, during the first broadcast of “The Big Chance” on ORF, high tension was felt in Carinthia for the first time. There were four entries from the south, with “Dance Industry” from Klagenfurt making it. Juror Barbara Meier was so fascinated by the troupe’s presentation that she immediately catapulted the industry into the semi-finals with a “heart buzzer”.

There was also a strong Carinthian participation in the broadcast on March 22nd. Celine Derler, singer from Klagenfurt, who even made it to the recall on DSDS in 2023, fought for promotion. At the beginning of March, Derler released her new single entitled “Knife in my Head”.

Paolo Scariano, also from Klagenfurt, was also there. He is not only a marine biologist, but also studied singing at the Johann Joseph Fuchs Conservatory and the Accademia Belcanto in Graz. Before the performance there was a kiss from his “great love” Viktoria, then Scariano caused astonished faces in the audience and the jury. For “Miserere” he chose an interpretation by Zucchero and Luciano Pavarotti – he sang both parts.

The performance of Sarah and Georg from Feldkirchen, who won the hearts of the jury with a dance performance, was moving in the truest sense of the word. The jury even gave the duo, supervised by Ulrike Adler-Wiegele, a standing ovation – and nine out of a possible nine stars.

Feldkirchner Michael Ferguson, who comes from South Africa, wanted to inspire people with his voice. His performance was also well received. He was allowed to perform his song twice; he was “really nervous” the first time through. The “Twin Soul Sisters” from Villach really got down to business, rocking the stage and showing off their skills on hanging rings. “Incredibly great,” was the jury’s verdict.
