Auto, the Ecobonus match for electric cars reopens

by admin

The solution to the blocking of incentives for the purchase of low-emission cars comes thanks to the Infrastructure Decree which has planned to assign the resources initially foreseen for the Extrabonus (over 57 million euros) to the ordinary fund that finances the Ecobonus. This was announced by the Ministry of Economic Development in reference to the provisions contained in the decree of sustainable infrastructures and mobility approved today by the Council of Ministers. An essential tool for supporting demand for the car market, which is struggling to restart, is therefore back on track.

The case had emerged a few days ago: the exhaustion of resources allocated to incentives for the purchase of less polluting vehicles – included in the emission band 0-60 grams of CO2 per kilometer – had also effectively blocked the use of the allocated resources. to the Extrabonus, effectively eliminating the contributions in support of green mobility.

A real paradox given that the Ecobonus for cars with emissions from 60 to 135 gr / km can instead be booked, with resources equal to around 130 million euros. “Considering the effects produced by the epidemiological emergency, in particular those related to delays in production and the lengthening of the registration and delivery times of the purchased vehicles – still reads the note from the Mise – it is also expected that the conclusion of the IT procedure to confirm the Ecobonus booking can take place by 31 December 2021, if the insertion took place between 1 January 2021 and 30 June 2021, and by 30 June 2022, if the insertion takes place between 1 July 2021 and on December 31, 2021 “.

The text therefore solves another problem, in addition to that of blocked resources, that is, it extends the time of validity of the incentive request in light of the difficulties that the car industry is experiencing, in Italy and in Europe, along the entire supply chain. , due to the lack of microprocessors. And it responds to the requests that the entire sector, from producers to dealers, has submitted to the Executive in recent days.

“This is a measure that Mise has worked hard to ensure and optimize the use of funds for the purchase of less polluting vehicles” was the comment of the Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Gilberto Pichetto. “While I realize that this is a small amount, the allocation of these resources is a step in the right direction,” he added. The latest data relating to car registrations in Italy, in August, revealed that the sale of hybrid, plug-in and full electric cars exceeded the 40% share in the month.
