(LaPresse) Another bad weather emergency in the American states of New England, struggling for days with torrential rains and floods. A dam breach in Connecticut led to an evacuation order along the Yantic River in Norwich. Precisely in this town two men were rescued outside the pizzeria of a well-known chain. Floodwaters surrounded several businesses, including the pizzeria, where the water appeared to cover much of the front door. A rescue team reached the port on board a boat, managing to bring the two back to dry land. Meanwhile, a power station that had been closed, cutting off electricity to 5,000 customers, was put back into operation. (LaPresse)
