here Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (Camwater, the public company in charge of water management in Cameroon) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have reaffirmed their commitment to improving access to drinking water in areas affected by armed conflicts in Cameroon.
At a recent meeting in Douala, Camwater Director General Blaise Moussa and ICRC Water and Habitats Program Coordinator Jeremy Jousselin reviewed the results of their collaboration in 2023 and set priorities for 2024.
Since 2020, the ICRC and Camwater have joined forces to provide access to clean water to vulnerable populations in the North West, South West and Far North regions. In 2024, they aim to extend their collaboration to new locations, including the cities of Yaoundé and Douala which host many displaced people.
By ensuring access to a vital need such as drinking water, the two organizations contribute to improving the living conditions of populations and strengthening the resilience of communities in the face of security challenges. [Da Redazione InfoAfrica]
