Castellavazzo, school closed for Covid

Eleven schoolchildren found positive and another ten people infected in turn: lessons suspended

LONGARONE. The elementary school of Castellavazzo, a fraction of the Municipality of Longarone, was temporarily closed after the discovery of an outbreak of Covid-19 which involved ten young pupils, and then spread to eleven other cases. The first positivity – informs Ulss 1 Dolomiti – occurred on Friday 22 October in a child who had slight respiratory problems and was subjected to a tampon. As usual, all the classmates were taken in charge and checked, according to the sector protocol, and nine further positivity emerged in the class. Further “concentric circles” checks of the contexts frequented by the children revealed 11 other positivity. In-depth epidemiological investigations are underway aimed at assessing the traceability of all cases to the “index case”. For this reason, the temporary suspension of activities has been arranged for the entire primary school.
