Naples, May 3, 2021 – Now it’s official: Procida it is the first Italian island to have completed the vaccination of the resident population. The campaign began on Wednesday 28 April and ended yesterday and was joined by 92% of the population. The high adhesion, according to theAsl Naples 2 North, “allows us to look with optimism at the reduction of the risk of contagion on the island and therefore at an easier management of Covid-19 patients”.

From tomorrow it also intensifies in Ischia

Meanwhile, Ischia is trying to accelerate the vaccination campaign to try to save the summer season. In fact, the two hubs of Forio and Ischia port, set up at the sports halls of Ischia, from tomorrow they will allow 1800 vaccinations. Currently 18,000 doses of the vaccine have already been administered to residents in the six municipalities of the Green Island, including about 11,000 for the most fragile patients, the over 70s and the over 80s. The Healthcare Company plans to close the vaccination campaign in Ischia by the end of May.




Approximately 270,000 doses were administered in the 32 Campania Municipalities of reference of the Napoli 2 Nord ASL and approximately 20% of the residents received at least a first dose of vaccine. On Wednesday 5 May, to facilitate access to vaccination, the Health Authority proposes a vaccination without reservation in all its centers to the entire population aged between 60 and 79 years.
