MotoGP, Fabio Quartararo will turn on the Christmas lights in Nice

by admin

The new world champion chosen for a special task. This is not the only homage: a few weeks ago, after the title, the trams were carpeted with the image of the Yamaha rider

After a busy season, for the drivers of the MotoGP it’s time for holidays and relaxation. 2022 is upon us and everyone is recharging their batteries to attack the throne of Fabio Quartararo. The Frenchman, the new top class champion, will be called upon to defend his kingdom next season. A task that promises to be very demanding. Definitely easier, but still exciting, his role in the next task on the agenda: turning on the Christmas lights in Nice, the city where he was born.

HONOR

In fact, the Yamaha rider has been designated to switch on the lighting system in the French town. The ceremony will take place on 3 December at 6 pm in Place Masséna. The center of Provence has made it big: in fact, as many as 193 illuminated trees have been set up throughout the city, with the exception of the Promenade des Anglais, in addition to the “mirror with the stars”, a set of 78,000 meters of garlands, 2,177 meters of spruce trees and 1,518 Christmas motifs. For his part, Fabio jokes through his Instagram stories: “We will do the fireworks”.

ADMIRATION

The invitation to press the button that will light up Nice is just the latest tribute in chronological order made by the city to its champion. In fact, immediately after the World Cup victory, which arithmetically occurred in the second round at Misano, the sides of the trams in the French center were filled with posters featuring Quartararo, the pride of Provence, on its own. A choice perhaps also facilitated by the past of the town mayor, Christian Estrosi, a former motorcycle rider with a past in 250, 350 and 500.
