Milan, 6 December 2021 – Does Italian football believe in young people? And above all, is it able to adequately enhance them? The answer would appear to be negative, based solely on the latest report published by the Cies (the Football Observatory) relating to Most valuable Under 23s around Europe, and in particular in the top five championships of the Old Continent. Well, in the ranking drawn up, which includes 60 players in all (10 for the role), the Italian tournament is in last position, with just seven elements. In the lead we find the Premier League with 17 young people. Followed by the Bundesliga with 14, La Liga with 12 and Ligue 1 with 10. The most represented club is the Bayer Leverkusen with six players, in front of the Barcelona (five) et al Chelsea (four). The Italians present in the ranking? Three in all: Donnarumma, Batons e Tonali. PSG is the most valuable goalkeeper, given that its market value is around 80 million euros. The Inter defender stops at 60, while the Milan midfielder at 50.
