ROME – 11 euros per month; According to the estimates of Facile.it, this is the average saving for an Italian motorist if the Government effectively reduces the weight of excise duties by 15 euro cents per liter.
The intervention would bring the prices at the pump to around 2 euros per liter in the self mode. The average monthly expense for refueling today reached 167 euros for petrol and 160 euros for diesel respectively; with the intervention hypothesized by the Government, the monthly expenditure would drop to 156 euros per month to fill up a petrol car and 149 euros for a diesel one.
The cut in excise duties would only partially be able to counteract the record increases of recent weeks: with prices controlled, in a month a motorist would spend around 36 euros more on petrol (+ 30%) than last year; 44 euros more (+ 42%) in the case of diesel
