[NTD, Beijing time, March 17, 2022]South Korea’s recent single-day number of confirmed cases of the CCP virus (COVID-19) continued to hit a new high. After the previous day’s single-day diagnosis exceeded the 400,000 mark, on the 17th, more than 62 new cases were added. The number of deaths has exceeded 400 for the first time since the outbreak. Authorities estimate that it will gradually stabilize in about a week, and resume daily plans can be resumed.
Yonhap News Agency reported that South Korea’s Central Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters reported on the 17th that as of 0:00 that day, South Korea had newly confirmed 621,328 cases compared with 0:00 the previous day, with a total of 8,250,592 confirmed cases.

The authorities said that the wave of the epidemic will peak from the 16th to the 22nd of this month, but if the new cases continue to surge, it is expected that the peak period will be postponed and the number of confirmed cases will expand.
The South Korean government originally promoted a phased resumption of the daily plan in November last year, but due to the introduction of the highly contagious Omicron virus and the rapid spread of the epidemic, the plan had to be interrupted and social distancing regulations were tightened again.
South Korea currently stipulates that the maximum number of people in private gatherings is 6. The business hours of restaurants and coffee shops are until 11:00 pm. The current regulations are implemented until the 20th. starting implementation.
The South Korean government has previously stated that it is considering officially lifting the epidemic prevention regulations; however, there are also opinions that the number of critically ill people and the number of dead people are still increasing rapidly, and the epidemic prevention regulations cannot be slowed down immediately.
