Huawei announced that the HUAWEI Mate Xs 2 has become the industry’s first mobile phone with 3D accurate indoor positioning, with functions such as improving indoor positioning accuracy, realizing automatic floor switching, and indoor path planning. HUAWEI Mate Xs 2 users can use the AutoNavi Map App to achieve “store-level” precise positioning, automatic switching across floors, and a new indoor positioning experience with continuous and uninterrupted positioning.
At present, the indoor positioning technology has covered more than 160 cities in China, more than 1,300 core business districts, and more than 20 large-scale transportation hub-type public buildings. It is understood that this is the first 3D accurate indoor positioning technology that has been implemented on a large scale through smart phones in China.
Previously, the industry has also developed indoor positioning technology in a targeted manner, but the accuracy can only be maintained in the range of 30~100 meters, and it is impossible to accurately locate the user’s location; however, this AutoNavi map is based on the leading positioning technology of Huawei Petal Maps Platform. The fully automatic “fingerprint (signal feature)” intelligent identification of indoor WiFi signals can stably maintain high accuracy within 5~10 meters.

In indoor environments such as commercial centers, users can enter the indoor map interface of the center as long as they open the AutoNavi Maps app and zoom in on the homepage with their fingers. If the user is involved in going up and down the stairs during the movement, Huawei’s 3D accurate indoor positioning technology can intelligently identify the floor where the user is located, and automatically switch and display the corresponding indoor map interface.
