CASTELLAMONTE. Deep condolences in the city of ceramics for the death of Franco Oberto, born in 1938, the historic commander of the traffic police in the 1980s, after a career as a deputy in the early 1970s. The vigilant historian died on Tuesday 11 May of a serious illness.
A special, reserved, simple person, who took part in city events as a member of the Ancient Committee of the Carnival of Castellamonte, but also an innovator, as his friend Teodoro Medaglia recalls: “He arrived in the city in the 70s and was a motorcyclist, so, with his colleague Franco Pastore, they decided to buy two Guzzi motorcycles and work as a motorized brigade – says the deputy mayor.
