Belleli Energy hires the first 20 engineers of the plan with the Emilian universities

A close relationship with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the UniverMantova Foundation, a very structured selection and then a thousand hours of training diluted in just over a year, internship included, both in the Mantua and Chieti plants and digitally: from Monday begins a new life for 20 engineers aged between 24 and 28, who have earned a permanent contract in Belleli Energy CPE, one of the world‘s largest producers of critical process equipment for Oil & Gas, chemical and petrochemical plants , nuclear and electric power plants, with a turnover of 65 million in 2021 with a forecast of reaching 100 million in the next five years.

The project

When the Tosto Group acquired Belleli, the employees were 270, the average age was over 50 and the company had not hired for over 10 years: today 330 employees work in the Mantua plant and the workforce remains in trouble. “We have two needs, which however travel at different speeds – explains the vice president Fausto Fusari -: to grow in a lasting way over time, inserting young people available, serious and motivated in the wake of a company policy that will continue in the coming decades, and grow immediately and, for this objective it may be necessary, not only for our company but for the whole Italian system, to attract skilled labor from non-EU countries and ready to find a better future, moving to Italy from a country in difficulty “. Meanwhile, despite the excellent relationship with UniMoRe, the company had to make a national call, which was answered by over 110 young people with a three-year degree in engineering.

The first 20 selected

The 20 who passed the selection underwent and passed an advanced Critical Process Equipment Expert training course: today they are expert technical figures in the design and construction of pressure equipment. «We can count on young people ready for roles that require high technical specialization – underlines Fusari -. The territory also benefits from this, since the best talents find employment in a short time and are not forced to look abroad for a job more in line with their qualifications and their skills. “UniMoRe is also focusing a lot on Mantua, with various projects for the expansion of the training offer and, in particular, those related to green chemistry. “We would like to replicate this type of experience also with other industrial realities in the area – is the wish of Marko Bertogna, professor at the University of Emilia and director of the High-Performance Real-Time (HiPeRT) laboratory -: we are used to dialogue and collaborate with local companies and to build important industrial initiatives. “The training experience represents an absolute novelty for Mantua, but not for the Tosto Group, which since 2009 has started collaborations with the engineering faculties of the most important Italian universities, with which on-the-job training courses for young engineers have been structured aimed at indefinite employment in the company. “The mix of enthusiasm, dedication and availability has ensured that this third post-graduate / master course has achieved a tangible success that we are all experiencing first hand – concludes Luca Pierfelice, CFO of Belleli -. It is certainly an experience to be repeated: I also recommend it in other areas, not just those of the so-called boiler room sector in which our Mantua plant is located “. Michele Romano
