CARBIS BAY. Such an armored Carbis Bay had never been seen in the course of its history: endless checkpoints at the entrance, policemen at every corner of the town with less than 3500 inhabitants, roads closed for most of the day. “It’s a first time for us, and we’re certainly not used to it”, says Pete, owner of the B&B Chy-An-Gwedhen, located right on the main road, St Ives Road, which leads to the equally suggestive St Ives della Tate local and where Virgina Woolf spent time.
