MILAN (ITALPRESS) – The growth trend in raw material prices continues which, for the second quarter of 2021, leads to an increase in energy bills for the typical family in protection of + 3.8% for electricity and + 3.9% for gas. In terms of impact on the consumer, for electricity the expenditure for the typical family in the rolling year (between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021) will be around 517 euros, with a variation of -0.7 % compared to the equivalent 12 months of the previous year, corresponding to a saving of approximately 4 euros on an annual basis. In the same period, the typical household’s expenditure for the gas bill will be around 966 euros, with a variation of -5.2% compared to the equivalent 12 months of the previous year, corresponding to a saving of around 52 euros on an annual basis. . The typical family, therefore, still benefits from an overall saving of around 56 euros on an annual basis. The Arera also approved the implementation resolution of the Sostegni Decree which will reduce bills for small businesses by 600 million. The measure will mainly benefit about 3.7 million individuals and will lead to a discount in the months of April, May and June, which will be higher in percentage terms for businesses forced to close by measures to combat the epidemic. The discount is worth about 70 euros per month for a customer with a contract with a power of 15 kW and will be particularly incisive on the total cost of the bill for businesses still forced to close, reducing it by up to 70%. For businesses that can remain open, the savings will be on average between 20% and 30% of the total cost of the bill. “The increase is driven by the strong appreciation of raw materials also influenced by expectations for an upcoming economic recovery, on which the markets are betting, now that the vaccination plans make the exit from the pandemic more concrete.
