The Saxon municipalities are blocking the collective bargaining agreement for the two and a half million employees at the federal and municipal level. The municipal employers’ association in Saxony has so far not wanted to apply the collective bargaining result in local public transport, the Verdi union announced on Monday.
The Federal Tariff Commission has therefore postponed its approval of the outcome of the negotiations, which was planned for Monday. The deadline for the collective bargaining parties to accept the negotiated collective bargaining result expires on Wednesday.
If the dispute with the public employers has been resolved by then, according to Verdi, the Federal Tariff Commission wants to discuss the matter again. Only then will there be approval. In a member survey, almost 66 percent of the Verdi trade unionists had spoken out in favor of accepting the collective bargaining agreement. Verdi and the civil servants’ association had joined forces with the union of municipal employers’ associations and the federal government agreed on the collective bargaining agreement on April 22nd.
