Alitalia, the CGIL: “Air sector blocked, new refreshments are needed”

by admin

The Draghi government was clear from the beginning: not even one euro more for Alitalia’s grain, the 3 billion for the capitalization of the newco Ita and the resources allocated for layoffs until September must be enough. Now, however, Filt-CGIL raises its voice in the opposite direction: «The picture has changed in recent weeks – says the secretary Fabrizio Cuscito -. Italy is almost all back in the red zone and so the resumption of flights is moving away. If you rightly think of refreshments for all sectors, why should the air sector be excluded? Aid was planned in 2020, now the same should be done for all companies and therefore also for Alitalia ”. The request comes on the eve of the summit between the Italian government – with ministers Giancarlo Giorgetti, Enrico Giovannini and Daniele Franco – and the European commission, represented by Margrethe Vestager. During the week there was a dense series of remote meetings between the technical structures of the government and Brussels, which insists on asking for a discontinuity between the old and the new company before giving the green light to the revival plan.
