Alpine, more power and three versions for the renewed A110

Sportiness in the Renault group is called Alpine. And if on the track this means Formula 1 and endurance racing, on the road there is the A110, the small 2-seater coupe with mid-engine and rear-wheel drive which, four years after its debut, is renewed, differentiating itself in three configurations that enhance three aspects of his rich personality.

In addition to the “original”, there are now also GT and S versions that feature specific aesthetic and technical features. For all of them there is a new infotelematic system with a 7 “screen that can be updated over-the-air while the basic hardware remains unchanged, that is the completely aluminum body – made in Italy by Cecomp of Turin – on which it is mounted in position transversal the well-known 4-cylinder 1.8-liter turbo coupled to a 7-speed double clutch gearbox. For the new versions the power goes up from 252 to 300 hp with a different delivery curve while the Brembo brakes have front discs increased from 296 to 320 mm. The GT has the calipers in blue, the S has them in orange and has received the most attention.

Inside we find the microfiber on the Sabelt Sport seats and on the steering wheel while the work on suspension and aerodynamics was more in-depth. The suspension is lowered by 4 mm and stiffer by 50%, the tires are wider and with the aerodynamic package (splitter, lower fairing and rear wing) you get a downforce of 141 kg and the possibility of reaching up to 275 km / h compared to the 260 km / h of the standard S.

The other two versions, on the other hand, remain limited to 250 km / h. On the 300 hp variants you can have a carbon roof (1.8 kg), on the S also painted in contrasting black, perhaps in one of the 22 “Heritage” colors.

What matters for enthusiasts is that, with a weight of around 11 quintals, the new A 110 have a weight / power ratio of 3.7 kg / hp and a 0-100 km / h in 4.2 seconds. against 4.5 in the “basic” version. The active exhaust system and the launch control contribute to improving the acoustic involvement which, to offer a more raucous tone, cuts the power supply to a cylinder in the moments preceding departure.
