Online purchases by Italians will reach 45.9 billion euros in 2022 (+ 14%). Products show + 10% compared to 2021 and reach 40 billion, while services are worth 11.9 billion (+ 28% compared to 2021) thanks to the signs of recovery already highlighted last year. These are some of the trends that emerge from the updated data on the eCommerce market in Italy, according to the latest survey by the eCommerce B2C Netcomm Observatory – School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano. Numbers that are pitted on the occasion of the opening plenary of the seventeenth edition of Netcomm Forum, the reference event for the digital world on the issues of the evolution of e-commerce, digital retail and business innovation at national and global level, back in attendance after two entirely digital editions, due to the restrictions dictated by the socio-health context.

On the product front, the different product categories show different trends: the more mature sectors slow down their growth path (Clothing with + 10% compared to 2021 and IT & Consumer electronics with + 7%), while Food & Grocery is confirmed as the more dynamic sector also in 2022, with a growth of + 17% year on year.
