Premier Li Qiang of China chaired an executive meeting of the State Council on March 1st to discuss and adopt the “Action Plan for Promoting Large-Scale Equipment Updates and Trade-In of Consumer Goods” in order to accelerate the construction of modern infrastructure systems and deepen the integration of the Yangtze River Delta. The meeting also reviewed the “Amendments (Draft) of three laws including the Agricultural Technology Extension Law of the People’s Republic of China”.
The meeting emphasized the importance of promoting large-scale equipment updates and replacing old consumer goods with new ones as a key decision for the overall high-quality development of the country. The plan focuses on encouraging advanced technologies, improving standards, and promoting the upgrading of various types of equipment and consumer goods. It also includes measures to increase policy support and establish a recycling system to improve resource efficiency.
Building a modern infrastructure system was also highlighted as essential for promoting high-quality development. The meeting discussed the need to strengthen overall planning, optimize supply structure, and accelerate the construction of a modern and efficient infrastructure system.
Furthermore, the meeting emphasized the importance of implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. Policy support and reform empowerment were identified as key strategies to enhance the region’s innovation capabilities and industrial competitiveness.
Additionally, the meeting discussed and approved in principle the “Amendments (Draft) of Three Laws including the Agricultural Technology Promotion Law of the People’s Republic of China” and decided to submit the draft for review by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
Overall, the meeting focused on promoting high-quality development, modernizing infrastructure, and enhancing regional innovation capabilities to drive China’s economic growth and competitiveness.
